* $242,493 to underwrite clinical research enrollment aimed at increasing capacity of local researchers to enroll women in breast cancer clinical trials.
* $40,000 for pilot educational programs.
* More than $1.2 million to help finance national peer-reviewed breast cancer research projects.

The event was emceed by WCBS-TV anchor and Komen Greater NYC Board member, Maurice DuBois.

In addition to the 2010 grantees, Komen Greater NYC honored people and organizations making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Also on hand was Fran Drescher, cancer survivor and founder of Cancer Schmancer, as well as special presenters Tamara Tunie of Law & Order: SVU and longtime Komen Greater NYC supporter and former First Lady of New York City, Donna Hanover.
