Kuleba Exchange Second Annual Cocktail Party

On March 31st, 2009, Kuleba Exchange threw its second annual cocktail party/fundraiser.

Kuleba Exchange is an educational organization that uses photography and travel as a means of cultural exchange to foster tolerance, spark curiosity, and fuel imagination among students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience different cultures. The event was held at the Canal Room in New York City, and celebrated the New York City and Rwandan students who participated in the pilot program last summer. The featured guest speaker was Carl Wilkens, who was the only American to remain in Rwanda after the genocide began and helped protect hundreds of children. DJ Jeffrey Tonneson provided music, and the raffle included prizes such as a Sony Playstation 3, a Waterford vase, designer clothes, art, and acupuncture sessions.
